Science (from the Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge") is, in its broadest sense, any systematic knowledge-base or prescriptive practice that is capable of resulting in a prediction or predictable type of outcome. In this sense, science may refer to a highly skilled technique or practice. In its more restricted contemporary sense, science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge based on scientific method, and to the organized body of knowledge gained through such research. This article focuses on the more restricted use of the word. Science as discussed in this article is sometimes called experimental science to differentiate it from applied science, which is the application of scientific research to specific human needs—although the two are commonly interconnected. Science is a continuing effort to discover and increase human knowledge and understanding through disciplined research. Using controlled methods, scientists collect observable evidence of natural or social phenomena, record measurable data relating to the observations, and analyze this information to construct theoretical explanations of how things work. The methods of scientific research include the generation of hypotheses about how phenomena work, and experimentation that tests these hypotheses under controlled conditions. Scientists are also expected to publish their information so other scientists can do similar experiments to double-check their conclusions. The results of this process enable better understanding of past events, and better ability to predict future events of the same kind as those that have been tested. The ability of the general population to understand the basic concepts related to science is referred to as scientific literacy. From Wikipedia under the

I think the scientific determinism is really true, everything we do is based on our genes and environment and circumstances. For example a person steals because his brain has the specific genes which allows him to steal without shame etc... So if everything is based on genes and how we can born and our circumstances, why does God punish us for the things we do? It isn't our fault, it's our genes and environement. Asked by lomashibal - Mon Mar 16 03:15:56 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. When you put your hand in a fire and you get burned is God punishing you? When doctors remove a cancerous cell from your body is God punishing the cell? What people fail to understand that it is not about punishment it is about ridding the world of sin. God is giving us the choice to turn away from our sinful ways or be destroyed with our sins. There are people in this world who just can't turn away from it and even the Bible acknowledges this. But sin must not be allowed into the Kingdom. It will be destroyed and those who refuse to turn away from it will be destroyed with it. I would encourage you to read through the Books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
