I just finished my freshman year, and I still live at home. I have no qualms with it. If you're concerned with meeting people, be sure to join a few clubs or organizations on campus. That's just as good for meeting people as living in a dorm can do. Plus, living at home has the added benefits of homecooked meals, no noisy/annoying roommates, no loud neighbours, and no fire drills at 3AM. Also, I don't know where you might be going, but dorms are expensive. It can cost upward of $3,500 for a dorm+food plan (food plans are usually required for freshmen) per semester. That's a lot of money you can save by living at home. I guess your home situation is a lot to take into consider when moving away.
